Breathwork is a transformative and healing experience.

Breathwork has been used historically for spiritual enlightenment, relaxation, healing, and personal transformation. The breath can heal the body, mind, and soul.

To facilitate profound healing inside the body, the conscious connected breathing pattern interacts with the sympathetic, parasympathetic, and autonomic nervous systems to create space for fluid movement between the activation and deactivation phases. It helps you ground yourself in the present moment while informing your nervous system that you’re safe.

In a guided, personalized, and secure setting, breathwork sessions allow you to connect with the innermost parts of yourself.

What to expect during a breathwork session

The first session will involve a more in-depth conversation about your current lifestyle, goals, and intentions. We'll also examine what you know and remember about your birth, childhood, and family patterns. This will help you become more conscious of the underlying layers of tension, repressed feelings, belief systems, anxiety, and stress your body carries around.

Typical sessions start with a check-in chat, instructions on breathing for the session, intention setting, and somatic grounding and centering exercises, followed by a 60-minute active breathing session, ending with a time of integration using journaling, drawing, and sharing.

Energy and Vibrational Sound work may also be incorporated into your Breathwork Session.

FAQs

  • Breathwork is a practice that involves intentional control of your breath to influence your mental, emotional, and physical state. It can encompass various techniques and styles aimed at promoting relaxation, stress reduction, increased energy, and overall well-being.

  • There are various breathwork techniques used, such as diaphragmatic breathing, alternate nostril breathing, box breathing, and conscious connected breathwork. Each technique has its own purpose and benefits.

  • The frequency of your breathwork practice can vary based on your goals and needs. Some people incorporate breathwork into their daily routine, while others practice it a few times a week. Consistency can help you experience the full benefits.

  • In general, breathwork is safe for most people. However, if you have certain medical conditions, such as cardiovascular issues or respiratory disorders, it's important to consult a healthcare professional before engaging in breathwork practices.

  • During breathwork, deliberate control of your breath triggers various physical and mental responses. Techniques like slow, deep breathing activate the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to relaxation and reduced stress. This can influence heart rate, blood pressure, and brain wave patterns. Breathwork can also prompt emotional release, enhance oxygenation, and foster a stronger mind-body connection. Effects vary with the technique and individual, so it's important to explore safely and consider guidance from experienced practitioners.

  • Breathwork may release trauma by regulating the nervous system, fostering emotional release, and reconnecting the mind and body. Techniques like deep, intentional breathing activate the parasympathetic nervous system, potentially aiding trauma processing. By increasing the oxygen supply, breathwork supports cognitive and emotional healing. Emotions and memories tied to trauma might surface during breathwork, allowing for controlled processing and catharsis. While breathwork can be beneficial, cautious practice and professional guidance are recommended, especially for complex trauma.
